Climate change.

How does climate change affect populations of Varanus spp.? Climate change, specifically global warming can also affect Varanus spp. with regard to their current distribution patterns, that can diminish, expand or shift. Thus, species confined to arid environments may benefit from expanding their distribution into neighbouring formerly more humid areas. The global range of species that formerly occupied these more humid areas can then increasingly shrink, as former habitat requirements no longer meet the species’ needs.
